KCR govt plans an international film city in Hyderabad

The KCR government has got plans to facilitate the building of a new film city on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The city will meet the standards of international studios, complete with an air strip.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday said that about 1500 to 2000 acres will be allotted for the purpose.
He said that the concerned government officials and the Telugu film industry representatives will visit Bulgaria to study the film city culture there.
KCR is reported to have made the comments in the presence of Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna, who were at the Pragathi Bhavan on Saturday evening. The chief minister wants to give a boost to the Hyderabad based film industry, which directly and indirectly employs more than 10 lakh people.
