Yuva Rajkumar, the grandson of the legendary Kannada actor Rajkumar, made his acting debut this year with the film "Yuva," starring alongside Sapthami Gowda of "Kantara" fame. Yuva married Sridevi Bhyrappa in 2019. Sridevi is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in the USA.
Recently, Yuva Rajkumar filed for divorce from his wife of five years, citing mental harassment and abandonment. In a counter statement, his wife alleged that Yuva had been in a relationship with his co-star Sapthami Gowda for over a year, which prompted her to move to the USA. Sapthami Gowda has responded to the allegations by initiating a defamation case.
Sapthami Gowda is seeking Rs 10 crore in compensation and a public apology from Sridevi Bhyrappa in her defamation lawsuit. She asserts that she has no relationship with Yuva Rajkumar apart from being his co-star in his debut film and her name was wrongly dragged into the case without any fault of hers. The Bengaluru City Civil Court has taken notice of Sapthami's complaint and issued a formal notice to Sridevi in response.
