The Tamil Nadu government's decision to pull out internet connections in three districts surrounding the Tuticorin area has earned criticism from all quarters. The journalists who are on the spot to cover day before yesterday's controversial deaths of eleven people due to police firing are without food and water due to the tense situation there.
The Makkal Neethi Maiam president Kamal Haasan who visited the wounded in the hospital yesterday on hearing about the internet blackout has lashed "Internet connection cut in Thooththukkudi? Alarming! What next? excommunicate Tamilnadu? TN would see an uprising, much bigger than any, in its history. No Government is strong enough to take on the might of my people."
