The film became the second highest grossing ever in Tamil cinema history after Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan' toppled it from the first position four months later.
Meanwhile in Kamal's career his 'Uttama Villan' produced by director Lingusamy was released in 2015 turned out to be one of his biggest flops. Linguswamy in a recent speech has stated that he spoke to Kamal Haasan four months back about the losses and requested him to do another film for him. The filmmaker has confirmed that Kamal has agreed to his proposal and he expressed his confidence that the project will begin soon.
Kamal Haasan is currently hosting 'Bigg Boss Tamil 6' and also simultaneously shooting for Shankar's 'Indian 2'. He will soon move on to his 233rd film reportedly directed by H. Vinoth after which he will be reuniting with Mani Ratnam after 35 years for 'KH 234'.
