Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan congratulates winners of 69th National Awards

The 69th National Awards was announced yesterday, for the year 2021 by the government of India. Congratulations are pouring in for all the awardees and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan congratulated music director Devi Sri Prasad, who won the National Award for Best Music Composer for the movie ‘Pushpa : The Rule’.

Today, Kamal penned a note congratulating all the award winners.  He wrote in Tamil “The 69th National Film Awards have been announced. It is gratifying to see the award for the best Tamil film for the film ‘Kadaisi Vivasayi’ and a special mention for the late Nallandi who gave an outstanding performance in it. My love and appreciation to producer Vijay Sethupathi, director Manikandan and team.

The four time Best Actor National Award winner added “Allu Arjun, has created a new history as the first Telugu actor to win the National Award for Best Actor.  I extend my wishes to director R. Madhavan and team for ‘Rocketry : The Nambi Effect’ which won the Best Film and ‘RRR’ director S.S. Rajamouli and team for awards in several categories.”  

Kamal also mentioned Shreya Ghoshal who won the best singer award for the song in the film ‘Iravin Nizhalil’ and Srikanth Deva who won the best music composer award for B.Lenin’s documentary film “Karuvarai”.  He concluded by stating “The National Awards list is a sign that South Indian cinema has reached many new heights in content and technology. May the success continue!”

Kamal who is in the US currently on return home will begin shooting for Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ costarring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone.  He will be hosting ‘Bigg Boss Tamil 7’ set to begin telecast from October first week.  By the end of the year the 68 year old evergreen hero will move on to ‘KH 233’ directed by H. Vinoth.
