Kamal Haasan completed his grand birthday celebrations and the unveiling of his father D. Srinivasan's statue in his hometown in Paramakudi on Thursday and returned to Chennai. This morning the statue of K. Balachander was jointly inaugurated by his most celebrated prodigies Kamal and Rajini at the new office of Raj Kamal Films International in Alwarpet, Chennai.

Speaking at the occasion Rajini addressed Kamal as his elder brother in cinema and heaped praises on him and also revealed that he watched 'Hey Ram' forty times. In his acceptance speech, Kamal said that Rajini became a star in the very first year of his entry in cinema much like Sivaji Ganesan.

The Ulaganayagan also revealed that he and the Superstar made a secret agreement four decades back that each will travel in his own way and explore their strengths and have always been each other's first fans and severe critics of each other. They both could visualize that they will rule Tamil cinema even before they became big stars and made a pact that they will continue in parallel paths which, Kamal said is continuing till today. Kamal added with finality that no one can come in between his friendship with Rajini and they will always share the same love for each other.
