There has been a welcome change in Tamil cinema`s approach towards sequels in the recent years. Some successful films in the recent past have had their sequels either as second 2 or as an attempt to create a successful franchise with the title of a successful film.

Following in line with the pattern, the new film earlier titled as Jin` has been now changed as Darling 2` making the G.V.Prakash starrer horror-comedy flick which emerged a winner at the box office this year. This will not be the second part of Darling` and it just shares the common genre.

Darling 2` is being directed by debutante Sathish Chandrasekaran whose story revolves around five friends going out on a outstation trip with one friend haunted by ghost. The film also has a lot of scope for humor which comes as added assurance for its commercial viability.

The film stars Rameez Raja and Maya in lead roles while the supporting cast includes Kalaiyarasan, Kali Venkat, Arjun , Muneesh kanth, Jhonny of 'Madras' fame and many others.

The film is being produced by K.E.Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green who successfully produced and distributed Darling`.

Speaking about his new venture in an official press statement Gnanavel Raja has said "This idea sounded good and exciting to me. The humour that is strewn all around the horror based script assures the success. This film has plenty to offer. The title change was discussed and with out any hesitation it was accepted.I am sure this film also will be a 'Darling 2' for the masses. We are planning to release the film on October 21"
