Superstar Rajinikanth suggested Dhanush’s script to this producer

The grand star studded audio and trailer launch of Dhanush's upcoming 'Velai Illa Pattadhari 2' happened in Mumbai on Sunday evening IJune 25, 2017). The film has been produced  Kalaipuli.S.Thanu who gave two blockbusters last year with Vijay's 'Theri' and Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kabali'. It was also Thanu's birthday and the audio launch was made as a platform for the veteran's birthday celebration too. by the cast and crew members of 'VIP 2'. 

Addressing the gathering, a visibly jubilant Thanu while addressing the gathering said he is confident that 'VIP 2' will be a blockbuster. He also revealed an interesting secret as to what made him produce this sequel to the 2014 blockbuster 'Velai Illa Pattadhari'. 

"After the blockbuster hit 'Kabali' we planned to do a film with Dhanush and Soundarya. It is our beloved Superstar Rajinikanth who suggested me to produce 'VIP 2' after reading the script written by Dhanush. I thank Rajinikanth sir for suggesting me such a good script to produce. Our hero cum writer Dhanush is one of the most talented persons in Indian cinema. Kajol mam said to me that this is one of the best movies she has acted.I have seen the film and I am very happy with the output. I am sure that I will meet you all in the Mumbai again for the success celebrations of the film."

'VIP2' has been directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth. The star cast includes Amala Paul, Samuthirakani, Vivekh and many others from the first part and Bollywood actress Kajol makes a comeback in Kollywood with this film.
