JioPhone 2, touted to be a high-end variant of JioPhone, was on Thursday unveiled at the 41st edition of the RIL AGM at Mumbai's Birla Matrushri Sabhaghar.
The new version will support the much-used apps like Facebook, WhatsApp and YouTube. The new phone will be available in stores from August 15. Its introductory price is Rs 2,999. "The phone comes with QWERT keypad and supports horizontal screen viewing," a note from the company says.
As a monsoon offer, customers can replace their older JioPhone for a new JioPhone 2 for just Rs 500.
JioPhone 2 runs on KaiOS (operating system). This awaited smart phone comes with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of ROM.
Reliance Jio now enjoys a huge subscriber base of 200 million, which it has achieved in 22 months.
