According to US media reports on Tuesday, Jennifer Lopez allegedly filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, severing their relationship just two years after rekindling their romance and getting married.

Famously known as "Bennifer" in their early 2000s affair, the pair had reunited almost two decades later. But according to TMZ and Variety, Lopez just turned in divorce filings to a Los Angeles court.

Affleck's second marriage was to Lopez. First they crossed paths on the 2002 movie "Gigli". Their romance soon descended into a media frenzy that resulted in involvement. They called off their marriage in 2003, nevertheless, and split in 2004.

When the pair was seen together once more in 2021, the internet hummed with delight; Lopez described their relationship as a "beautiful love story." Their engagement in April 2022 and marriage twice that year—first in a Las Vegas wedding and later in a spectacular party at Affleck's Georgia estate—were announced.

Though they bought a $60 million house in Los Angeles together, early this year allegations of marital problems appeared. Fans noted Lopez celebrated her 55th birthday alone, and TMZ said they sold their house together. Affleck has now settled into a bachelor pad.

Sources claim their different approaches to fame could have damaged the relationship. Divorce papers record April 26, 2024 as the date of separation; reports indicate the pair is no longer in contact.
