In the release trailer for 'Jayamma Panchayathi', released today via Mahesh Babu's social media handles, the protagonist played by Suma is on warning mode. She probably has faced a major disappointment in life and became combative, and aggressive. Jayamma hails from a well-off family that falls into the lower-middle-class status due to misfortune. We will know her backstory and the complexities in her characterization when the film releases on May 6.

Starring YouTuber Shalini Kondepudi and debutant actor Dinesh Kumar as lovers, the entertainer-cum-drama has Devi Prasad in the role of Suma's husband. The village-based drama gets serious in the second half, it seems.

In a recent interview, the film's director said that he has previously made acclaimed short films. The story of 'JP' is set in Srikakulam, where the characters are inspired by real people although the story itself is fictional.
