The most awaited sequel of the decade, Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer 2, has dropped a blockbuster update: Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi is officially part of the film in a powerful special cameo alongside Superstar Rajinikanth!

Key scenes of Jailer 2 were recently shot in Goa, and it has now been confirmed that Vijay Sethupathi took part in that schedule with Rajinikanth. Though the role is brief, the actor had openly expressed his long-time desire to work under Nelson’s direction, and that wish has finally come true with this Sun Pictures mega-project.

This marks the second collaboration between Rajinikanth and Vijay Sethupathi after the 2019 blockbuster Petta directed by Karthik Subbaraj, making their reunion even more exciting for fans.

With Anirudh Ravichander composing the music, the film also stars Ramya Krishnan, SJ Suryah, Mohanlal, and several other top stars in pivotal roles. Jailer 2 is slated for a grand theatrical release in August 2026.
