New Zealand fast bowler and Royal Challengers Bangalore player Kyle Jamieson was on the receiving end of abusive comments on social media after dismissing Virat Kohli in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship in England's Southampton.

Kyle Jamieson broke a New Zealand record after successively dismissing wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and captain Virat Kohli on the 3rd day of the WTC final at the Ageas bowl. Soon after Virat Kohli's wicket, Indian team fans bombarded the comments section of Jamieson's Instagram handle with abusive remarks, while some of them even asked RCB to terminate the bowler's contract. Speaking about Kohli's dismissal at the virtual post-day press conference, Jamieson said, "He (Kohli) is a massive part of their team and pretty big wicket to get, so to get him pretty early morning, was I guess was nice and pleasing and pretty crucial for how the day followed."

When he was asked if he thought Kohli had any apparent glitches in his technique, Jamieson said, "Oh, not really I think, he is a world class batter and those guys don't tend to have too many chinks in their armoury. He is obviously a massive part of their line-up and to get him early certainly set things up nicely for us. It is pleasing in terms of for myself trying to wobble the ball and try and keep him in check a little-bit and to get that was pleasing and it was a great start for our day."
