One of the biggest films in pan Indian cinema that is in the making is Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2 directed by Shankar and produced on a mammoth scale by Lyca Productions. The sequel to the universal blockbuster 'Indian' released in 1996. The project has seen many roadblocks and delays due to a makeup glitch, an onset accident in which three crew members lost their lives and the coronavirus pandemic. So far forty percent of the screenplay is said to have been filmed.
Rumours started doing the rounds that 'Indian 2' is likely to be shelved but the truth is far from that. Sources close to the team have given the good news that Lyca and Shankar have charted out a plan to resume the shooting from February first week and have already approached Kajal Aggarwal, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Siddharth for dates.
It is said that scenes that do not involve Kamal Haasan will be canned and the legendary actor will join for a short schedule as he will be shooting 'Vikram' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj in February and March and also has his hands full with the Tamil Nadu General Elections 2021. Kamal is said to have promised to allot bulk dates to finish his remaining portions in one go after a few months.
