Shankar's magnum opus 'Indian 2' starring Kamal Haasan is one of India's most expected upcoming films. Unfortunately, the project has been dogged by several issues including the coronavirus pandemic and an on-set accident that killed three crew members. It then came to a grinding halt after creative differences between the director and the production house.
Shankar then moved on to other projects 'RC 15' starring Ram Charan Teja and 'Anniyan' remake in Hindi starring Ranveer Singh. Lyca then went to court and sought a ban against Shankar from directing any other film before completing 'Indian 2'. Though a lower court ruled in favor of the director the producer went for an appeal and the petition has been admitted spelling another legal battle that could take months if not years to settle.
Subaskaran the billionaire owner of Lyca Productions is in India after a very long time and industry insiders have stated that he invited Shankar and his wife for an informal meeting. The sources say that Shankar accepted and within an hour the issues were sorted out and proceedings have begun to withdraw all cases that have been filed.
Accordingly 'Indian 2' will resume in the next few months and be completed. This is the news that fans of both Kamal and Shankar have been waiting for and its time to rejoice. The sequel to the pan Indian blockbuster film 'Indian' has music by Anirudh and stars Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, Siddharth and the late actor Vivek. Stay tuned for more updates on the mega project.
