Power Star Pawan Kalyan, known more for his reticence than media soundbites, opened up emotionally at a press interaction ahead of Hari Hara Veera Mallu’s release. In a rare and heartfelt moment, he declared, “I arranged this press meet only for A.M. Ratnam garu. This film must live. I am here.”
At a pre-release press meet for Hari Hara Veera Mallu, Pawan Kalyan spoke candidly about his involvement in the film and his deep respect for veteran producer A.M. Ratnam. “I usually don’t promote movies. But for this one, I had to. It’s not about success — it’s about standing by the people who stood by me,” he said.
Pawan recalled his admiration for Ratnam, who brought regional cinema into the national spotlight and once commanded industry-wide respect. “I’ve seen his struggles over the years. I didn’t want him to suffer with this film. That’s why I took it on my shoulders.”
Set for a grand release on July 24, the period action drama explores a fictional journey of the Kohinoor diamond and a battle between Veera Mallu and the Mughals. Pawan revealed he shot the climax for 57 days during peak summer and even choreographed a major action sequence. “The martial arts I learned years ago finally came in handy,” he added.
Director A.M. Jyothi Krishna praised Pawan’s intense commitment and confirmed that the star designed and led a 20-minute action block that took music director M.M. Keeravaani ten days to score. “This film is born out of passion. Pawan Kalyan garu’s presence shaped it beyond what we imagined,” he said.
Actress Nidhhi Agerwal thanked the team for the opportunity and called the project “a very special film” in her career.
Concluding emotionally, Pawan said, “Cinema has no caste, religion, or boundaries. It’s a yagna. I came here leaving politics behind because this industry fed me. I am here for this film.”
