On Wednesday, a video clip in which Nara Chandrababu Naidu is seen advising the cadre of the Telugu Desam Party to file cases against policemen went viral. Ostensibly, the ex-CM of Andhra Pradesh made this advice to his party men as a counter to cops harassing them with fabricated cases.
Towards the end of the video, Naidu says that the cops who are harassing TDP activists today will be dealt with severely once his party comes to power. “We will come to power in two years and will punish them,” Naidu says in the video. This has been seen by critics as nothing but a threat to witch-hunt government employees.
Reacting to the controversial video, which was seemingly leaked by someone who was present in the video conference, Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharitha has said that Naidu’s threat is nothing but a mockery of the Constitution of India. She suggested that the Leader of Opposition wants to disturb law and order by making such provocative statements.
