Musician and artist Grimes is suing her sometime partner Elon Musk in order to establish parental rights for their three children. According to several outlets, the woman, Claire Boucher, filed a petition to establish a parental relationship on September 29th in San Francisco.
The document remains sealed, but Vulture has reached out to legal representatives for Grimes as well as representatives for both parties, seeking further information about the filing. This procedure is not unusual at all when it comes to unmarried parents.
What differentiates Grimes's petition is the fact that she has not asked for any custody rights or child support. This move follows weeks after Grimes uploaded on X, speaking to Elon Musk's biographer Walter Isaacson and asking him to "tell Elon to let me see my son or please respond to my lawyer."
For purposes of clarity, the third baby in question here is techno-mechanics. The couple also has a daughter together called Exa Dark Sideræl, who was born in 2022, and a son named X Æ A-12 in 2020.
After accidentally exposing their newborn baby, Grimes wanted her children to be safe from the prying eyes of the public and said, "I wish I could show you how cute little Techno is, but my priority is keeping my babies out of the public eye."
Her act of taking legal action shows a seriousness in Grimes about not allowing any further information leakage about her kids in all this chaos amidst her relationship with Musk.
