It's known that the Centre has decided to go for a phase-wise unlocking of schooling activities in the country. Partial resumption of activities in schools for students of classes 9th to 12th on a voluntary basis will be begun in earnest. In this regard, the Modi government has notified Standard Operational Procedures.
The voluntary reopening of schools will take place from September 21. Here are some of the SOPs:
Social distancing of at least 6 feet to be followed as far as feasible.
Face covers or masks is mandatory.
Frequent hand-washing with soap is mandatory. Each time, the student and everyone else involved has to wash for at least 40-60 seconds. Use of alcohol-based hand sanitisers wherever feasible for 20 seconds at least.
Strict practice of covering one’s mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing has to be practised. A tissue, or a handkerchief, or a flexed elbow should be resorted to.
Spitting is banned.
Use of Aarogya Setu App is voluntary but encouraged.
The government has advised schools and colleges to encourage online classes wherever feasible.
Symptomatic students, teachers or employees can't be allowed.
