Former Team India opener Gautham Gambhir joined the BJP party today in the presence of Union Ministers Arun Jaitley and Ravi Shankar Prasad. Speaking to newsmen the stylish southpaw stated "I am joining this party(BJP) after getting influenced by PM Narendra Modi's vision. I am honored to get the opportunity to join this fabulous platform to do something for my ".
Political analysts are of the opinion that Gambhir will contest the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 from Delhi. Though the prolific scorer in cricket has formally begun his political innings today he is not new to the arena as he has campaigned for Arun Jaitley in 2014. Gautham Gambhir is the latest entrant to politics from the cricketing world after Mohamad Azharuddin, Mohamad Kaif, Kirti Azad and Navjot Singh Siddhu.
