‘Gang Leader’ Trailer: Funny writer & his eccentric revenge

The Trailer for ‘Gang Leader’ only raises expectations from the movie.  Remarkably novel and even eccentric, it strikes the right notes right from the word go.

Nani plays a copy-cat writer named Pencil Parthasarathi, who is comically described as a fraud by the heroine (Priyanka Arul Mohan), for he lists plots from movies and pens them as Telugu-language novels.  Lakshmi and Saranya approach him for help in their quest for revenge against some individuals, including mainly a sophisticated villain, played by Karthikeya.

Going by the trailer, at one level, ‘Gang Leader’ is also a parody of detective movies, much like the first half of ‘Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya’ was.  

Also featuring Aneesh Kuruvilla, Priyadarshi, Raghubabu, Vennela Kishore, Jaija, Pranya and Sathya, this one has been directed by Vikram Kumar of ‘Manam’ fame.  

Producers Y Naveen, Y Ravi and Mohan Cherukuri have brought on board the best talent.  After listening to his outstanding background music in ‘Jersey’, we expect nothing less than the best from Anirudh Ravichander.  Mirosla Kuba Brojek’s cinematography and Rajeevan’s production design are also special in the trailer.  Dialogues are by Venkat D Pati.  

The crime comedy will release on September 13.
