Gaddar Awards 2024: Kalki 2898 AD Wins Best Film, Allu Arjun Best Actor

May 29, 2025 Published by rajeshe092eb6a68

The Telangana government has officially announced the winners of the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards 2024, a prestigious honor instituted in memory of the legendary revolutionary balladeer Gaddar. Celebrating the finest in Telugu cinema, this year’s awards recognized excellence in storytelling, performances, and cinematic innovation.

Leading the accolades was “Kalki 2898 AD”, the visually stunning sci-fi epic helmed by Nag Ashwin and starring Prabhas. The film was awarded Best Film, a major nod to its bold narrative and groundbreaking production values.

In a standout moment, Allu Arjun was named Best Actor for his dynamic portrayal of Pushpa Raj in Pushpa 2: The Rule. This award holds particular weight as it follows recent controversies, including a stampede at a promotional event that led to friction between the actor and the state authorities.

Nivetha Thomas earned the Best Actress award for her emotionally resonant performance in 35 Chinna Katha Kaadu, a film praised for its depth and subtlety.

Director Nag Ashwin also took home the Best Director award, reinforcing his status as one of India’s most visionary and experimental filmmakers.

The jury, led by veteran actress and MLA Jayasudha, finalized the list of winners earlier this week. Other notable recognitions include Pottel and Lucky Bhasker, which were named the second and third best films, respectively—highlighting the diversity and evolving landscape of Telugu cinema.

The official awards ceremony is expected to be held soon in Hyderabad, with prominent figures from the film industry, politics, and cultural spheres in attendance.
