An FIR has been lodged against Cinepolis in KPHB’s Manjeera Trinity Hall for delaying shows in the theatre by telecasting advertisements endlessly. Sometimes, shows are delayed by up to 20 minutes because of this practice.
Social activist Sai Teja was the first one to bring the issue to the concerned authorities. Since the delay violates the Telangana Cinemas Regulation Act, the activist took up the issue appropriately.
In the recent past, similar complaints were lodged against a couple of multiplexes in Hyderabad. “Theatre managements must understand the value of time and respect their customers. In some multiplexes, the show doesn’t start even after the National Anthem is played. A few more ads are shoved down our throats with no respite,” a patron says.
