Pawan Kalyan's die-hard fans are celebrating ever since writer Vijayendra Prasad confessed to having been inspired in writing the interval bang of 'Baahubali-2' by a real-life situation involving the star's fans, who deliriously screamed Pawan's name during an audio release function.

This is the newest and most creative Pawan Kalyan reference in Tollywood.

Actually, it has almost become a ritual to bank on Power Star's craze by film after film. One or another reference to the actor is an easy way to draw whistles in theatres.

In 'Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada', a character saying 'Dayyalu kooda Pawan Kalyan fans ah?!' when the possessed heroine dances to a Pawan song, is both situational and story-related. In 'Nanna Nenu Naa Boyfriends', comedian Shakalaka Shankar (who is incidentally also a Pawan fan in real life) almost worships Power Star in a scene.

In 'A Aa', Trivikram Srinivas infuses a Pawan reference for good. "Ravana's wife, too, thinks of her husband as Pawan Kalyan," Anupama's character says.

'Abbayitho Ammayi', 'Selfie Raja', 'Pichekista' and 'Jagannatakam', not to forget the film 'Pawanism' and the recent 'Guru', are only a few examples of films which bank on Pawan's craze to excite his fans. This is excluding the films of Mega heroes, who are bound to have a Pawan reference by default. Before the release of his son's debut film 'Jaguar', HD Kumaraswamy called on the actor at his Hyderabad residence. Obviously, it was with the intention of seek his fans' blessings, indirectly.

Nobody would complain if the reference is organic, as is the case in 'EPC' and even 'Guru'. However, if otherwise, it looks way too artificial and even dishonest.

Besides filmi references, budding actors are often found proudly claiming that they were inspired to take up acting only because of Pawan. In audio functions, it's not uncommon to see Pawan's name being invoked by one or another speaker, and/or in skits.

Why is it that everybody is interested in using the star's craze to their advantage? It's not like everyone is doing it with a commercial motive in mind. Some of the admiration is apparently genuine. But some times, it's easy to see through their games!
