Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam's combo is a magical occurence which happened only once for 'Nayakan'. But the film's legacy is unparalleled even today. Their reunion is written in the stars as they came together after three decades for the magnum opus, 'Thug Life'.

This biggie commenced with a huge star cast including Dulquer Salmaan and Jayam Ravi in pivotal roles alongside Kamal Haasan. But both DQ and Ravi opted out citing date issues as Ulaganayagan is busy with politics and they have a busy schedule. There were rumours that Simbu might replace Dulquer Salmaan's role as Kamal Haasan in producing 'STR 48'.

Reliable sources suggest that these speculations have become true. Atman Simbu will be playing Dulquer Salmaan's role in 'Thug Life'. He is said to start shooting in April and an official announcement with a poster will be made soon. Meanwhile, the shoot of 'STR48' will commence once RKFI completes Sivakarthikeyan's Amaran and 'Thug Life' to an extent.

Though STR's fans are delighted to hear he's gonna share the screen with Kamal Haasan, some are worried that this is going to delay the much-awaited 'STR 48', directed by Desingh Periasamy. Simbu has been long preparing to play dual roles in STR 48 and one of those roles is said to be a transgender. There is a huge inception around this upcoming project.
