Disney's Haunted Mansion premiered unexpectedly Saturday night. The SAG AFTRA strike prevented Tiffany Haddish, LaKeith Stanfield, and Jamie Lee Curtis from attending. The red carpet was surprisingly empty. Disney boldly proceeded with the premiere. They skillfully filled the celebrity's absence with renowned theme park characters.
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Maleficent, Snow White's Evil Queen, and Cruella delighted guests by posing on the Haunted Mansion ride's frightening red carpet. Influencers and guests were given a chance to experience the Haunted Mansion.
Director Justin Simien and producers arrived later. They enjoyed group shots and spoke to the press. Simien expressed mixed emotions, praising the cast and scriptwriter Katie Dippold. He regretted not being able to attend but respected their decision. He offered to represent them.
The magnificent red carpet event was followed by a special screening at California Adventure's Hyperion Theatre. Simien thanked his coworkers and Disney officials onstage. He recognised the industry's struggles.
During the strike, SAG AFTRA called the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers' offer "insulting and disrespectful." SAG AFTRA President Fran Drescher was disappointed and argued that the studios were wrong to not pay actors fairly. Despite the strike, Disney's Haunted Mansion launch showed everyone's dedication to produce this fantastic event.
