Discovery+ app streams docuseries on Nithyananda

“Saint or Sinner? Godman or Conman?” asks Discovery+ bringing out the docuseries ‘Watch My Daughter Joined A Cult’. Streaming in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, English, Kannada, and Malayalam since June 2, the series is about Swami Nithyananda, the fugitive ‘Godman’. 

As per the makers, the docuseries is full of testimonies from devotees (both present and ex), lawyers, journalists and activists about Nithyananda’s life, their encounters with him, their experiences, and more. 

The docuseries, as per Scroll, retraces Nithyananda’s meteoric rise and dizzying fall. “The focus is firmly on his alleged crimes and the mystery of his current whereabouts,” wrote the portal. 

“This is a long, long, long time coming documentary about Nithyananda. I hope this reaches as many eyes as possible and his greatest fear comes true – that he is exposed in everyone’s eyes,” wrote a former disciple of Nithyananda. 

In 2018, Nithyananda faced the prospect of an arrest. He ran away from India and is reportedly the lord of an island somewhere in the Pacific. Kailasaa is ithe name of the island. The island nation has got its own sovereign rules and currency and a central bank.
