Cheran takes a stand supporting director Ameer in ‘Paruthiveeran’ controversy

There has been a lot of noise around the 16-year-old film, ‘Paruthiveeran’, recently. The prestigious rural flick directed by Ameer marked actor Karthi’s debut and one of the benchmark films in Tamil cinema. However, the director and producer of the film have an unsolved dispute over the movie’s finances off-screen.

Recently, producer Gnanavel Raja made serious allegations against director Ameer for cheating money from him in the Paruthiveeran budget. Many from the film industry voiced out in Ameer’s support including Samuthirakani, Sasikumar, Bharathiraja and Sudha Kongara. Now, ace director Cheran has supported Ameer in his latest social media post.

A rough translation of his post is: “Ameer.. Even if you stand in a herd, you are a mighty chariot…. Even if times pass and money and fame hide their eyes, you are the one who created them.. Be arrogant.. Just the pride that they would not be what they are today without you is enough.. Truth and honesty will win. Time will wash away all stains.” This is now going viral.
