Breaking ! Vetrimaaran’s ‘Visaranai’ goes to Oscars

After fifteen long years since Kamal Haasan’s ‘Hey Ram’, director Vetrimaaran’s path breaking film ‘Visaranai’ has been chosen to compete for the Oscars in the Best Foriegn Language Film category.

The films that were in contention for the prestigious entry were ‘Neerja’, ‘Thithi’, ‘Udta Punjab’, ‘Nil Battey Sannata’ and ‘Sairat’. It is a wonderful moment for Tamil cinema and congratulations are due to Vetrimaaran, Dhanush, Dinesh, GVP,Aadukalam Murugadoss, Kishore, Samuthirakani, writer Chandrakumar and the late editor Kishore T.E.
