In a case that has shocked the film fraternity, actor Nadeem Khan, known for his role in the Bollywood film Dhurandhar, has been arrested by Mumbai Police following serious allegations of sexual exploitation and cheating.
Khan, who portrayed Akhlaq—the cook and trusted aide to Akshaye Khanna’s character in Dhurandhar—was taken into custody after a 41-year-old woman accused him of exploiting her for nearly a decade under the false promise of marriage.
Complaint and Allegations
According to the police complaint, the woman alleged that she first came into contact with Khan in 2015 while working as a domestic help at the residences of several film personalities. During this period, Khan allegedly promised to marry her and, on that assurance, maintained a sexual relationship over the years. She claimed that when he recently refused to marry her, she decided to approach the police.
The complainant has accused Khan of repeated sexual assault, cheating, and emotional manipulation, stating that she was misled and exploited for a prolonged period.
Legal Procedure and Investigation
The woman initially filed her complaint at Versova Police Station, where a Zero FIR was registered. Since the alleged incidents reportedly occurred within the jurisdiction of Malvani, the case was later transferred to Malvani Police Station for further investigation.
Mumbai Police confirmed that Nadeem Khan was arrested on January 22, 2026. A magistrate subsequently remanded him to police custody for preliminary investigation. Officials stated that they are currently examining medical records, witness statements, and other corroborative evidence to ascertain the veracity of the allegations.
Unsettling Parallels
The case has drawn attention due to the striking irony between Khan’s on-screen portrayal of betrayal in Dhurandhar and the nature of the accusations against him in real life. Police authorities, however, emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that conclusions will be based strictly on evidence.
Further updates are expected as the probe progresses.
