Dhanush’s Raayan set for OTT streaming

The Tamil hit film *Raayan*, starring Dhanush in the lead role, has enjoyed a successful run at the box office. Directed by Dhanush himself, the movie is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video from August 23rd.

Produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, *Raayan* features an ensemble cast, including SJ Suryah, Selva Raghavan, Saravanan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan, Prakash Raj, and Aparna Balamurali.

As Dhanush’s 50th film, *Raayan* will be available for streaming in Tamil, with dubs in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, across India and 240 countries and territories worldwide.

The film follows the story of four siblings who flee their village and find refuge in the city. As adults, they each take on different roles—Manickam (Kalidas Jayaram) is a righteous college student, Muthu (Sundeep Kishan) is impulsive, and Raayan (Dhanush) assumes the role of a responsible father figure. Their bond centers around their sister, Durga (Dushara Vijayan), and Raayan’s efforts to secure her marriage draw him into a power struggle between gangsters Sethu (SJ Suryah) and Durai (Saravanan). Meanwhile, a new cop in town (Prakash Raj) manipulates the situation, aiming to clean up the city. The story unfolds as Raayan fights to protect his family amidst escalating challenges.

Dhanush’s impactful and stunning performance in subtle manner carrying the film on his shoulders won the appreciation of one and all. Dhanush’s direction also came in for special praise from the critics and movie lovers.

Released on July 26th, *Raayan* has set box office records, grossing over Rs 150 crore in its third week. On its sixteenth day, the film reportedly saw a 56% increase in revenue from the previous day, earning Rs 2.15 crore. With a gross of Rs 75 crore in Tamil Nadu alone, *Raayan* is now eyeing the Rs 200 crore mark.
