Multi-talented star Dhanush's 'Velai Illa Pattadhari 2' is all set to hit the screens this Friday (August 11, 2017). The film which is the sequel to the 2014 blockbuster 'VIP 2' will be releasing big in Kerala as there is no major Malayalam film release scheduled to release this week.

Now we learn that the Kerala theatrical release rights of 'VIP 2' has been acquired by Max Lab Entertainment, which is co-owned by Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal.

It is worth noting that the same firm released Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kabali' and the 2014 Vijay starrer 'Jilla' in Kerala.

'VIP 2' has been directed by Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya and it has been produced by 'Kabali' producer Kalaipuli.S.Thanu. The film also marks the comeback of Bollywood queen Kajol in Tamil cinema.
