It is well-known that Dhanush is an ardent fan of Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja. The National Award-winning actor is now going to play 'Ilaiyaraaja' in the musical maestro's biopic. The film directed by Arun Matheswaran was officially launched by Ilaiyaraaja and Kamal Haasan in Leela Palace today. A first-look poster was unveiled.

Dhanush revealed that he is manifesting to act in the biographies of his two idols while talking at this event. He said, "I wanted to act in the biopics of only two people, Ilaiyaraaja sir and Superstar Rajinikanth sir. One of my manifests is happening now. I am a fan and devotee of Ilaiyaraaja and his music has been my companion.

From the time when I didn't know how to act to now, if I had to shoot a scene, I would listen to a song or background music suitable for that scene. The music would tell me how to act in those scenes, and I would just absorb it and act in that scene. Even Vetrimaran has seen this once. Many are saying it's a challenge for me to act in the Ilaiyaraaja sir biopic, but I don't think so. Because his music will tell me how to act like him."
