Dhanush’s Character Name in ‘Kuberaa’ Sparks Interesting Connection with Rajinikanth’s ‘Coolie’

A new promotional poster for Kuberaa, starring Dhanush, has caught fans’ attention—not just for its visuals, but for a striking coincidence linking it to Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Coolie.

The connection? Both actors play characters named Deva.

In Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Rajinikanth is said to portray a character named Deva. Interestingly, the same name was used for Mammootty’s iconic role in the 1991 Rajinikanth starrer Thalapathy.

Now, in a recently released poster celebrating Dhanush’s 23rd year in cinema, it has been revealed that his character in Kuberaa is also named Deva. This unexpected overlap between the two major stars’ films has sparked curiosity and excitement among fans, who are speculating about potential symbolic or cinematic links between the projects.

Directed by Shekhar Kammula, Kuberaa features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead and music by Devi Sri Prasad. The multilingual film is set for release on June 20 across five languages: Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and Malayalam.

With promotional activities expected to begin soon, this intriguing name connection has already added an extra layer of buzz to the film’s build-up.
