Sree Vishnu: ‘Comrade Kalyan’ Will Be a Perfect Dussehra Entertainer for the Entire Family

‘King of Entertainment’ Sree Vishnu is gearing up to entertain audiences with Comrade Kalyan, a period entertainer that blends humour, romance, emotions and commercial elements. Directed by Janaki Ram Marella, the film is presented by Kona Venkat and produced by Venkat Krishna Karnati and Seetha Karnati under the Skanda Vahana Motion Pictures LLP banner.

The film stars Mahima Nambiar as the female lead. The previously released glimpse, teaser and songs have already generated positive buzz, with the makers now gearing up for the film’s worldwide theatrical release on October 9, coinciding with the Dussehra festive season.

The team recently held a pre-release press meet, where the cast and crew spoke about the film and their experience of making it.

Sree Vishnu Promises a Complete Family Entertainer

Speaking at the event, Sree Vishnu said that Comrade Kalyan will be a perfect film for families to watch and enjoy during the Dussehra holidays.

The actor expressed confidence that children would also connect with the film and said the response to the promotional content released so far has been encouraging. He added that the team has worked hard on promotions within the available time and urged audiences to watch the film in theatres.

Sree Vishnu also revealed that he was particularly excited about playing his character and that the film features several powerful dialogues that audiences will enjoy.

According to the actor, the core point of the story is serious, but the decision to set it against a Naxalite backdrop added an interesting dimension to the narrative. The combination has resulted in what he described as an entertaining commercial film.

‘Comrade Kalyan’ Will Become ‘Comedy Kalyan’

Presenter Kona Venkat added plenty of energy to the event with his trademark humour. He said, “Today he is Comrade Kalyan, but from tomorrow he will be Comedy Kalyan.”

Kona Venkat praised Sree Vishnu, saying that while every hero has his own fan base, audiences across different hero fandoms also like Sree Vishnu. He felt that the title ‘Andarivadu’ (Everyone’s Hero) would suit the actor perfectly.

He also praised Sree Vishnu for consistently expanding his audience with every film and highlighted his strong comic timing.

Kona Venkat revealed that Comrade Kalyan is the result of a nearly two-year journey. The team travelled across Odisha, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and other regions to shoot at locations that had rarely been explored for films.

He particularly appreciated producer Venkat Krishna for making his debut as a producer without compromising on the quality of the project.

Kona Venkat also expressed his hope that Comrade Kalyan would become one of the most memorable and hilarious entertainers in Sree Vishnu’s career.

Janaki Ram Makes His Directorial Debut

Director Janaki Ram Marella expressed his gratitude to Sree Vishnu and Kona Venkat, whom he described as his mentor and biggest support system.

He said the film has shaped up so well because of their constant encouragement. He also praised producer Kittu for maintaining a positive attitude throughout the filmmaking process.

Kona Venkat revealed that he had previously supported and introduced several filmmakers, including Harish Shankar, Bobby and Shiva Nirvana, and said he is now introducing Janaki Ram to the industry.

He called for audience support for the young director and hoped that Comrade Kalyan would receive the same positive energy from audiences.

Producer Confident About October 9 Release

Producer Venkat Krishna said that this is his first film as a producer and thanked Sree Vishnu and Kona Venkat for their constant support.

He praised director Janaki Ram for delivering the film effectively and requested audiences to watch Comrade Kalyan in theatres on October 9.

With its mix of period elements, comedy, romance, action and emotion, Comrade Kalyan is now heading into the Dussehra race with considerable expectations. The film’s theatrical release on October 9 will reveal whether Sree Vishnu’s latest entertainer can strike the right chord with family audiences.
