‘DevaDas’ has grossed Rs. 41 Cr already: Nagarjuna

‘DevaDas’, starring Nagarjuna Akkineni and Nani, is currently in its second week. Producer C Ashwini Dutt today held a press meet to thank the audience for making the comedy a “success”.

Speaking at the meet, Nag said, “Wasn’t here when ‘DevaDas’ released. Spent a holiday with family for a week. I am glad that our movie has grossed Rs. 41 Cr in just a week and the second week is going to be good as well. Thanks to Nani and he performed extraordinarily as Dr. Das. Now he is on a vacation and hope, he is having fun.”

The senior actor further said, “Director Sriram Adittya has a great future and producer Ashwini Dutt’s passion for films is just the same when I worked with him for ‘Aakari Poratam.’ Recently Vyjayathi Movies banner has completed 45 years  and now Dutt garu has his daughters as pillars of support. Also thanks to our cinematographer, Sham for his outstanding work. He showed me stylishly in the role of Deva. To the heroines, music composer Mani Sharma garu and to the entire team. Last but not least thanks to the media. September and October months have been great for me and my family. Still can’t believe ‘Shiva’ has completed 29 years and my one more film ‘Ninne Pelladutha’ was a sensational hit then. It collected Rs 1 crore from Devi theatre and created a record.”

Producer Ashwini Dutt noted, “I am really proud of our film’s success. Thanks to my hero Nagarjuna garu who featured in most films under my banner. TFI icons NTR and ANR who did maximum multi starrer films and Nagarjuna garu is setting a new trend. Special thanks to the people of Karnataka as DevaDas has reported Rs 2.37 crore share. He praised Nani and director Sriram Adittya for their outstanding work.”
