The much-anticipated Pan-India project PuriSethupathi, marking the explosive collaboration between maverick director Puri Jagannadh and powerhouse performer Vijay Sethupathi, is steadily progressing towards release. With shooting already wrapped up, the film is currently in the post-production stage. The project is jointly produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur under the Puri Connects banner, along with JB Narayan Rao Kondrolla of JB Mohan Pictures.
On the special occasion of Vijay Sethupathi’s birthday, the makers officially revealed the film’s title and striking first-look poster. The film has been powerfully titled Slum Dog 33 Temple Road. The first look showcases Vijay Sethupathi in a fierce and raw avatar, unlike anything seen before. Sporting rugged hair and a thick beard, dressed in a beggar’s attire with a flowing scarf and boots, the actor is seen holding a massive sickle raised high. Set against a dark, fog-filled slum backdrop with bundles of currency notes flying chaotically, the poster instantly sets the tone for a high-voltage action entertainer and has generated tremendous excitement among fans and cinephiles alike.
Known for reinventing his heroes with bold and unconventional characterizations, Puri Jagannadh once again pushes the envelope with Slum Dog. Vijay Sethupathi’s transformation into this intense and ferocious character marks a completely new chapter in his career, promising a role that is both challenging and impactful.
The film features Samyuktha as the female lead opposite Vijay Sethupathi. Acclaimed actress Tabu and Kannada star Duniya Vijay Kumar will be seen in crucial roles. Adding a dose of humor to the gritty narrative, Brahmaji and VTV Ganesh are set to entertain audiences with their comic performances.
Music for Slum Dog 33 Temple Road is composed by National Award winner Harshavardhan Rameshwar, renowned for his powerful and pulsating scores in films like Arjun Reddy and Animal. His involvement further elevates expectations around the film’s background score and soundtrack.
Designed as a true Pan-India spectacle, Slum Dog 33 Temple Road is slated for a grand theatrical release in five languages — Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. With a striking title, a gripping first look, and a formidable cast and crew, the film is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about action dramas in the coming days.
