Today (May 4) is late Dasari Narayana Rao's birthday. The legendary director, who made more than 100 movies, passed away on 30 May 2017. On his Jayanti today, Megastar Chiranjeevi made an important statement.

Calling him a Darsaka Ratna, the 'Acharya' actor wrote that Dasari was known for making the best content-driven films, and for excelling film after film. He also observed that Dasari was the go-to man whenever the Telugu film industry faced issues.

Chiru then added that it's sad that such a great personality hasn't yet been honoured with a Padma award. The senior actor urged the Centre to give me a civilian honour posthumously.

Dasari, known for classics such as 'Meghasandesam', won a number of Nandi and Filmfare Awards.
