We already saw that CSK's key player Moeen Ali's presence in the team is uncertain as the England all-rounder was stuck in London due to visa issues. Meanwhile, the franchise is still awaiting clarity on the availability of injured Deepak Chahar too.
On March 24, the team's CEO Kasi Viswanathan said that Moeen Ali won't be available for the first match on March 26. "He has received his visa and is landing in Mumbai today. He will straightaway go into quarantine upon arrival," Viswanathan said.
The 34-year-old player reached Mumbai last night and will undergo a mandatory 3-day quarantine as we reported earlier. Ali Bhai will be missing the opening clash where the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings takes on the former runner-ups Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday.
The cricketing star will complete his quarantine by 27th March and will be taking part in CSK's second fixture against the Lucknow Super Giants on March 31 at the Brabourne Stadium. Moeen Ali was one of CSK’s mandatory retentions alongside Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni and Ruturaj Gaikwad. He was retained for INR 8 crores by the famous franchise.
