The coronavirus updates for today in Tamil Nadu witnessed yet another day of massive count with 6972 new cases taking up the total number of patients to 2,27,688 so far. The death toll has risen to 3659 with 88 new deaths in the past twenty-four hours.

With 1107 new cases Chennai has been maintaining its average of the past ten days with total cases reaching 96438 and 2056 deaths. Among the other districts data Virudhunagar has reported 577 cases while Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Madurai and Chengalpattu have recorded more than 300 cases.

On the positive side 61,153 persons were tested today taking up the total of tests to 24,75,866 and is continuously leading in numbers among all Indian states. 4707 patients have been discharged today taking up the tally of recoveries to 1,66,956.
