Television actor Ashwin Kumar rose to fame after participating in the blockbuster reality show 'Cooku With Comali 2'. He previously played small roles in Mani Ratnam's 'Ok Kanmani' and 'Aaditya Varmaa'. Ashwin recently headlined a cameo in Harish Kalyan starrer 'Oh Manapenne'.

Ashwin will debut as a lead actor in 'Enna Solla Pogirai' directed by debutante A. Hariharan with Teju Ashwini and Avantika Mishra as the leading ladies. The romance drama is bankrolled by Raveendran under the banner Trident Arts. It also stars Pugazh, Delhi Ganesh, Subbu Panchu, Swaminathan and others.

We already updated you that the film's works are over and Ashwin's debut movie is ready for theatrical release. Now, the makers have announced that Enna Solla Pogirai is all set to release for Pongal. The team has targeted the Pongal race as the release of biggies like 'RRR', 'Radhe Shyam' and 'Valimai' was postponed.

It is also worth mentioning that Ashwin's speech during the Enna Solla Pogirai's audio launch recently became controversial and was trolled by Netizens on social media. Ashwin stated that he slept when 40 directors came to narrate stories to him. Due to severe backlash, he apologized that he didn't mean to hurt anyone and that he made the speech in a nervous state.
