Rafiq Rasheed aged 45 years, was suffering from itchy skin for which he had been going to treatment to Dr. Ramakrishna Verma. Over 6 months he did not see results. When he went to the clinic at 11 am, Verma’s wife Lata (50 years) informed him that her husband was in Delhi. According to City Superintendent of Police BPS Parihar, this angered the man who got into an argument with the doctor’s wife. He began to stab her repeatedly with a knife which he had with him. When her son Abhishekh aged 19 years came on hearing his mother’s screams, Rafiq stabbed him as well and then tried to flee the scene.

Fortunately, some people who heard the commotion came and managed to catch Rafiq who was then handed over to the police. The mother and son were taken to a private hospital where Lata was declared dead. The son is in a critical state. The police are also looking into possible molestation before stabbing. Rafiq was also involved in a murder case in 2015 but he came out of jail on bail. He tends to always carry a knife apparently.
