Ahead of the party’s ‘Jan Aakansha rally' scheduled on February 3 in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan, Congress supporters have put up posters of Congress President Rahul Gandhi in the state capital portraying him as ‘Lord Ram.’
Rahul Gandhi has been placed in the center of one of those posters, which also included former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, newly appointed general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, among others. In what was clearly a dig at the ruling BJP, the poster read, “They (BJP) keep chanting the name of Lord Ram, while you live like him.” The quote apparently targets the Ayodhya Ram Mandir issue. The Congress worker who put up the poster said, “Rahul Ji has all the qualities of Lord Ram and not Prime Minister Modi who is only doing politics in the name of Lord Ram. Congress has been working for the development of the country for long and all the important revolutions and schemes had been implemented by the Congress.”
Similar posters depicting Rahul Gandhi as Lord Ram and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as demon Ravana which were spotted in Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi created outrage among the people in the state in the past.
