A church set erected for a Malayalam film in Kerala's Kalady in Ernakulam was on Sunday vandalized by members of two Hindu outfits. The film stars Tovino Thomas and is titled 'Minnal Murali'.

As per The NewsMinute, activists of the Antharashtra Hindu Parishad have put out a Facebook post taking responsibility for the act. AHP's sister outfit Antarashtra Bajrang Dal is claimed to have assisted it with the demolition.

The activists admittedly demolished the church set because the makers had not sought proper permissions to put it up near an Adi Sankaracharya mutt.

As per early reports, all permissions were taken before the set was constructed there at a cost of Rs 50 lakh in March. The makers of the film have said that the destruction has caused a huge loss to them.
