In the weekend movie charts, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds's newest movies were the top two picks. While Lively's adoption of Colleen Hoover's 'It Ends With Us' followed closely with $50 million, Reynolds' Marvel picture, 'Deadpool & Wolverine', raked in a massive $54 million domestically.

The Hollywood power couple records a remarkable success with their box office triumph; they are the first married couple since Bruce Willis and Demi Moore in 1990 to occupy the top two slots. Thirty-four years earlier, Willis' 'Die Hard 2' and Moore's 'Ghost’ occupied the same places; eventually, 'Ghost' became the year's biggest grossing movie.

Since its late July launch, 'Deadpool & Wolverine' has been a huge hit, generating $494.3 million in the United States. Lively's 'It Ends With Us' exceeded expectations, particularly for a mid-budget movie, so its $50 million opening weekend was quite profitable.

The promotional tour for 'It Ends With Us' hasn't been without controversy, either. Particularly with director and actor Justin Baldoni doing solo press and Lively disclosing Reynolds had a hand in crafting a critical scene-news to the screenwriter of the movie- Fans noted some awkwardness among the group.

Both starring in the children's picture 'IF' and with Lively making a surprise cameo in 'Deadpool' as Ladypool, Lively and Reynolds are enjoying a great year despite the noise.
