Nandkishore Gurjar, a BJP MLA from Uttar Pradesh, has taken umbrage to a particular shot in 'Pataal Lok', the web series streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Filing a police complaint against the show's Executive Producer and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, he said that a picture of his was used by the series without his permission.
The controversial pic was clearly morphed to show him with a fictional character from the show. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath in 2018 had tweeted the morphed picture.
"It's an unauthorized use of my picture. The show is also anti-national because of the nature of its content. It projects Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism) in a negative light," the complaint suggests.
Since 'Pataal Lok' allegedly makes Pakistan look innocent and implicitly absolves the ISI, the MLA has urged in his complaint that Anushka Sharma should be booked under relevant sections of the National Security Act for "instigating communal disharmony".
