The most expected reality game show Bigg Boss third season has started yesterday amidst huge hype and anticipations, and while Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan has returned to host the third season as well, fans of the show were predicting the contestants of this season. While some of the contestants were revealed already, yesterday the audience got to witness them all, and the contestants seems to be a good mix of young and old personalities from media. Here's the list of contestants of Bigg Boss 3, and their backgrounds.

Fathima Babu:

Fathima Babu started her career as a news reader on DD Pothigai and has also acted in a lot of movies in supporting roles, like Swarnamukhi, Nee Varuvai Ena, Nerukku Ner, Aalavandhan and Kuselan. She has also acted in many Malayalam movies and TV serials.

Kavin:

Kavin had started his career with the hit serial Kanaa Kaanum Kaalangal and become popular with the Vijay TV serial Saravanan Meenatchi, which he had been a part of, for two seasons. Recently his long delayed film debut as a hero, Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma was released and his acting was appreciated.

Mohan Vaidya:

Mohan Vaidya is a popular carnatic Singer and violinist and has also conducted many music related TV shows on various channels. He is the elder brother of veena maestro Rajesh Vaidhya, and Mohan Vaidya besides music has also acted in several movies like Sethu and Anniyan in supporting roles.

Madhumitha:

Madhumitha popularly called as Jaangiri Madhumitha had started her career being a part of the hilarious Vijay TV spoof comedy show Lollu Sabha, and got her first break in films playing Santhanam's pair in the superhit movie Ok Ok and their comedy track was a huge hit following which she starred in movies like Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara, Raja Rani and had recently got married to her relative.

Sherin:

Sherin had a dream debut with Selvaraghavan scripted, Kasthuri Raja directorial Thulluvatho Ilamai where she was seen as the romantic interest of Dhanush, and the movie's success got her many films of which Whistle was notable, with the Azhagiya Asura song being the highlight of her career. Now a trained, professional DJ, Sherin was last seen on screen in Nanbenda as Santhanam's pair.

Cheran:

Cheran has always been known as the director for the society, as he has directed movies which reflect he society in one way or the other. Having made acclaimed and successful movies like Porkalam, Bharathi Kannamma, Vetri Kodi Kattu, he turned hero with Autograph and success continued with Thavamai Thavamirundhu as well, and after a break from direction post his C2H venture JK Enum Nanbanin Vaazhkai, the award winning maker returned to direction this year with Thirumanam.

Sandy:

Santhosh Kumar aka Sandy as he is known to Tamil audience, got his claim to fame with his participation in the Kalaignar TV dance reality show Manada Mayilada, following which his guru Kala Master gave him an opportunity to choreograph for a team, that went on to win the title. Following this Sandy had been a part of several movies and dance reality shows on Vijay TV.

Sakshi Agarwal:

A gold medalist from Anna university and an MBA graduate, Sakshi Agarwal began her career in Kannada film industry and was a part of various advertisements, and got her debut in Tamil with Yoogan. She had appeared in small roles in movies like Raja Rani, and got good recognition with her roles in Kaala where she played Superstar Rajnikanth's daughter in law and was also seen in Viswasam.

Saravanan:

One of the popular actors of the 90s, Saravanan had starred in several notable films like Pondaati Raajiyam, Abhirami and close to 25 movies in lead roles, and after a break returned to supporting roles with Bala's Nanda where he played a negative character, and got much more prominent with his role as Chithapu in Ameer's Paruthiveeran. He had starred in a lot of movies later, and was last seen in movies like Kolamaavu Kokila and 100.

Reshma:

Having completed her education in the USA, Reshma Pasupuleti had started her professional career as an airhostess and had then ventured into media. She had starred in several serials like Vaani Raani, Vamsam, Sundara Kaandam etc and had also acted in numerous movies in Tamil and Telugu. She was popular for the hit comedy track Pushpa Purushan in Velainu Vandhutta Vellakaran where she had played Soori's pair.

Abhirami:

Abhirami is a popular Chennai based model and actress known for several advertisements like Fortune sunflower oil, Rin etc, and had also been a part of the web series Ctrl Alt Del. She had acted in the Zee5 movie Kalavu, and had recently bagged her biggest offer of her career as she was signed to play a key role in the Thala Ajith starrer Ner Konda Paarvai as one of the three female leads.

Vanitha Vijayakumar:

Vanitha Vijayakumar is the daughter of senior actor Vijayakumar and late yesteryear actress Manjula. Vanitha had a dream debut in Kollywood as she starred alongside actor Vijay in her debut movie Chandralekha and was seen in the then top hero Rajkiran's Manickam as well. Sadly the films did not succeed at the box office,and she had not acted in many films later. She had been in news for the past few years due to her marriage related issues and her tussle with her father.

Losliya:

Losliya is a Sri Lankan news reader and model, from Colombo. She had entered media immediately after her schooling, and has been a well known face among Sri Lankan TV viewers. She speaks Tamil well, and has become one of the most liked contestants of the season even as she arrived, as fan pages and armies have been created already.

Mugen Rao:

Mugen Rao is popular in Instagram, and has a huge following on the social media platform with close to 1.7 lakh followers. Mugen is a singer from Malaysia, who gained popularity with his music videos and compositions on YouTube, and he is known shortly as MGR, as he claims.

Tharshan:

Tharshan is an IT professional turned model, who is from Jaffna , Sri Lanka. He was Mister Sri Lanka in the 2014 Mister International event, and aspires to make it big in the field of modelling and films. He had been a part of several brand endorsement campaigns like Pothys, Sri Kumaran Thanga Maaligai and has also starred as the lead in the lesser known Tamil movie Verenna Vendum released last year.
