Last year, the prominent Kinnera exponent Darsanam Mogulaiah acquired instant fame among the youths, thanks to the title track from 'Bheemla Nayak'. Mogulaiah is renowned in the Amrabad Forest Reserve area in Telangana.
Recently, the Telangana government announced a series of rewards as a mark of recognition for Mogulaiah's talent. Among them is the allocation of a house plot and cash to the tune of Rs 1 crore as a reward. The announcement has been criticized severely by some BJP leaders, who feel that it is nothing but splurging in the name of extending rewards to the artist.
Reacting to their comments, Mogulaiah today criticized the BJP. "It is only thanks to the KCR government that my talent has been recognized. BJP leaders are asking if KCR sir is giving the cash reward from his pocket. I want to say that it is the Central government that recognized me with Padma Sri. I will return the civilian honour if this continues," the Kinnera artist said.
He also praised the Achampet TRS MLA Guvvala Balaraju for always supporting him. "My MLA has been very encouraging. Recently, when I approached him for help, he directed his assistants to take care of me. I felt very happy," Mogulaiah added.
