Bharathiraja to launch his Dream Project Today

Veteran director Bharathiraja's new film 'Kutraparambarai' will be launched today with a formal pooja in a southern district town where the real story happened many years ago. Bharathiraja will be playing the lead role in this flick apart from directing this mega project and producing it under his Manoj Cine Creations banner.

Kutraparambarai Act was enacted by the British Government to oppress a people belonging to particular castes. The peaceful protests against this draconian act was silenced by the Britishers with guns and pistols. Many protester's sacrificed their lives in this firing incident. Veteran screenwriter Rathnakumar has written a script based on these many real life incidents. Bharathiraja has been calling ;Kutraparambarai' as his dream project.

The movie launch pooja has been planned in Perungamanallur, a village near Usilampatti town in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu. This is the village where the Britishers fired and killed the protesters fighting for the repeal of the controversial act, many decades ago.

Rathnakumar has penned the Story, Screenplay and dialogues of the film. Sabu Cyril will take care of Art Direction. Bharathiraja's long time camera partner B.Kannan will be handling the cinematography. Vairamuthu will be penning the lyrics for all the songs. The lead cast and remaining technical crew members will be announced soon.

Many Kollywood top rank celebrities are expected to take part in this grand launch event and the long list includes directors Lingusamy, Balaji Sakthivel, Suseenthiran, Pandiarajan. Ponram. Ezhil, S.S.Stanley, Saravana Subbayyah, Makizh Thirmani, lyricist Na.Muthukumar and Kabilan Vairamuthu.
