The recent Bangalore rave party incident, involving Tollywood actress Hema, continues to make headlines. The case has taken a significant turn with the revelation that 80 individuals, including Hema, tested positive for drug use after their blood samples were collected by the Bangalore police.
Following the positive test results, notices were issued to all those involved, including Hema. While she initially cited health reasons for not appearing in court, her subsequent failure to respond led to the Bangalore police traveling to Hyderabad, where they conducted an inquiry at her residence, took her into custody, and transported her to Bangalore after medical tests.
The incident has sparked a debate within the film industry, with calls growing for Hema's suspension from the Movie Artists Association (MAA). Actress Karate Kalyani has been particularly vocal in her criticism, demanding immediate action against Hema.
Responding to these demands, MAA President Manchu Vishnu has reportedly considered the issue of Hema's suspension. It is understood that he conducted a poll within the association, seeking opinions from members regarding the matter. With a majority of members favoring suspension, Vishnu is expected to announce Hema's suspension shortly.
However, it is important to note that this suspension will be temporary and remain in effect only until Hema is cleared of all charges. If she is not acquitted, the suspension will become permanent.
Currently, Hema is being held at the Parappana Agrahara Jail in Bangalore as the investigation continues. The incident has highlighted the growing concern about drug abuse within the film industry and the need for stricter measures to address this issue. The members of the Movie Artistes Association (MAA) convened on Wednesday evening, with actress Hema also in attendance. During the meeting, there was a significant discussion regarding the potential suspension of Hema from the association. It appears that MAA President Manchu Vishnu is expected to make a final decision on this matter on Thursday.
